LOVER The Label, Witchery & Sabo Skirt

4 favourite new get-ups:

Sabo Skirt jacket, Joie dress, Gorman clutch, Natasha heels

Gosh I love this outfit! The jacket is nice and light and while I do wish it was slightly better made at least it looks good and I can wear it in summer. This dress has definitely become my new fool-proof LBD and with the bag and shoes its a perfect spring outfit for the tropics. Floral jackets and pants are definitely a bit of fun so give them a go if you haven’t already.

Witchery linen jacket & tank, Kookai skirt, Zara studded pumps

Witchery neon knit, Kookai skirt, Tony Bianco pumps, Gorman clutch, YSL arty ring

Another FAVOURITE outfit of late. The colour is so out-of-character for me but I feel like its another good spring outfit. Especially for nights out with a cool breeze. Plus neon is so very on trend right now.

LOVER The Label dress, Eclettica clutch, Betts pumps

LOVER The Label on sale? YES! PLEASE! I don’t know what to say about this dress other than I’m in love with it and wish I had a billion black tie events to attend so I could repeatedly wear this. And the quality is superb! There’s nothing I like more than a wow dress that’s quality. I will be buying more LOVER in future even if it’s not on sale and costs me an arm and a leg.

3 Ways To Do Lace Peplum

A great find in Forever New recently that consists of two of my favourite words right now: lace, peplum. Firstly, this top is comfy as anything (usually a requirement to make it into my wardrobe) and secondly, so many options!

The top does come with a purple came underneath but it’s detachable, therefore making the top a lot more fun.

Father’s Day lunch: paired with True Religion shorts & Natasha sandals

Later that night heading to the movies with friends: paired with Paige Premium Denim verdugo leggings, Natasha sandals and a Witchery nude cami underneath.

A week or so later heading out for drinks: paired with Kookai skirt & Tony Bianco nude pumps

I’ll definitely be looking for more ways to style this baby.

Outfit update

20120926-224749.jpg

Forever New top, Jay Jays high waisted shorts, YSL arty ring, Natasha sandals and RayBan folding wayfarers.

It’s starting to get quite hot in the tropics and it’s technically only spring. The great thing about this outfit is not only is it cool and easy to wear, it was also under $100 for the top and shorts.

20120926-225446.jpg

Lioness dress, Tony Bianco Shoes, Eclettica clutch

This is my newest number from Princess Polly. The dress was $70 (I think) and is a thicker jersey-like material. So while it’s probably not the coolest dress — given summer is around the corner — I figured if I’m going to be hot, I might as well do it looking hot.

Zimmermann floating Vase bikini

A new bikini for summer — what could be better? This is my second purchase from Surf Stitch and my gosh they deliver quickly. I’ve loved this floral pattern since I first saw it and finally I decided to indulge a little. Pretty good fit, but I wouldn’t like to wear this top in rough surf or anything.

20120926-231026.jpg

Ba&sh top, Paige Premium Denim shorts, Repetto flats, Ray Ban folding wayfarers

Possibly one of my favourite casual outfits right now. It’s so comfy and chic and effortless; not to mention it’s great for the cold classroom to steamy outside transition between classrooms at uni. I will probably wear this till it’s falling apart and looking daggy as all hell.

Recent get-ups

Today’s Outfit editions from today, yesterday and last Wednesday. Please excuse my lateness with the posts, uni work was taking up all my attention.

Top: Sass and Bide
Shorts: Nicholas
Shoes: Tony Bianco Devon
Necklace: Lovisa

Above is a variance of an outfit I’ve already blogged about. I feel like it’s a bit more glam biker chic than the other version. Comfy of course and a good autumn outfit for the tropics where it’s still stinking hot and humid.

Dress: Parker
Shoes: Natasha
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Jewellery: Robert Clerc scarab earrings and ring, Tree of Life silver bracelet.

Above is the outfit I wore out last night. I lusted after this dress for months but it was around Christmas when I was spending all my money on my family’s gifts. Luckily 3 months later I found a small at online store Madison Los Angeles. Dad just so happened to be unsure about birthday present ideas for me and so this dress is my birthday gift from Dad. I did have to get it taken in all the way down the side seams, however. Even now it’s a bit baggy on my waist but it’s also a loose fitted dress so it’s not too obvious.
I really should have worn my red London Rebel pumps with the dress and my dark chocolate coloured clutch from Witchery but I was in a hurry and my Natasha heels where first in sight. The dress is very comfortable and I wanted it because it’s quite conservative but still chic – I could wear it to dinner with family, wear it with a blazer for a work look, or wear it out to a bar like I did last night. It’s one of those chuck on and go dresses that requires minimal hair effort too.

Top: Ba&sh
Shorts: Ksubi
Shoes: Vans Authentic

A casual look I did for uni the the other day. I love Ksubi’s shorts and these are quite comfy – I have a pair in black and in this faded blue colour. So many different options to wear with them too (as you can see below when I was trying to decide how to style them). It was raining all last week, so I figured a long sleeve top would stop me getting cold in the rain. Too bad it stopped raining that day and got very humid. I felt this look had an ever so slight retro feel to it with the faded blue shorts and red kicks. I’ll probably never wear anything more retro than this too. It wouldn’t suit me, in my own opinion. If you find these shorts at your local Ksubi stockist or online then definitely grab a pair (and don’t be afraid to go one size up like I did – they’re comfier that way). You won’t regret it.

Finally, it’s not clothing but below is a make-up look I had to do for work the other day. We each got given a look to complete on ourselves by the end of the week. I got given Rae Morris’ China Doll Eyes. Basically, it’s done like so:
1. a big sweep of deepish purple across the outer 2/3rds of the eye,
2. bright blue eyeshadow on the inner 1/3rd and top and bottom inner-corner of the eye,
3. blend the two nicely,
4. thickish purple eyeliner again 2/3rd of the way across the top lash-line,
5. a deeper blue eyeliner on the top lash-line and 1/3rd of the bottom lash-line,
6. smudge eyeliners a bit,
7. a thiner line of black eyeliner where the purple liner is on the top lash-line as well as lining the bottom lash-line (except in the blue area),
8. lots of mascara to finish!
It probably sounds more complicated than it is; I don’t lie when I say it’s easy. Also, don’t forget to go just above the eye crease to the brow bone a bit. Otherwise if you have heavy lids like me it won’t be visible.

Pretty Natasha Maxis

So I’m totally adoring some of the current season Natasha stuff! I don’t know why but I absolutely adore the maxi dresses Natasha comes out with each season. They can usually be worn many places and are so boho chic. Not to mention the fact that they’re super comfy and wash extremely well. I adore the bamboo print maxi I have from about 2 or 3 years ago.

Natasha silk flow hanki dress in orchid

Hello super cute floaty orchid coloured maxi! Isn’t this colour just divine? Definitely a dress I would consider wearing (however being so short the length may pose an issue). Pair with a fabulous wide-brimmed hat for a day at the beach sipping on mojitas!

Natasha marble maxi dress in lilac

I love a good neckline and this dress nails it! I love how simple the design is which compliments the pattern nicely. Just the right amount of tie-dye so you don’t look out-of-place while out at dinner somewhere more smart casual. I would pair this with some great silver or black cuffs with black heels and a black embellished clutch.

Natasha scollap lace maxi dress in wine

Not only is the colour to die for, but the design of this dress is gorgeous. Very vintage inspired and I love the panels of lace running horizontally down the skirt. I’m also a huge fan of the neckline. Not something I’d usually pick for myself but I have an inkling it would look decent on. Pair with gold accessories to dress it up.

Other Natasha favourites of mine are the silk pants, one shoulder short dress, ruffle jacket, and plaited flat sandal. Head to the Natasha website to check out the rest of the collection – I promise their pieces are good quality and a worthwhile investment.

Today’s Outfit: casual lunch chic

20111231-153351.jpg

Top: Forever New
Shorts: One Teaspoon Hawks
Jewelry: Diva necklace, YSL arty ring
Bag: Witchery
Shoes: Natasha

This is a lovely new outfit I wore to lunch the other day. The top was a gift from my Nan for Christmas and I adore the bright fuchsia colour; it goes perfectly with my turquoise necklace. To keep the look casual I wore it with cream high waisted shorts, however will wear it with a black mini skirt to go out sometime soon. The gold ring and bag details tied the outfit together nicely as well. Definitely an outfit I’ll be rocking again! HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Today’s Outfit: Sunday Sesh & Movie Chic

20111123-155322.jpg

I’m running a bit slow posting my Today’s Outfit blogs so please forgive me. The above outfit is what I wore to Sunday drinks at the beach for a friend’s birthday. Very comfy, a little bit unique and not to OTT for the beach.
Top: Ricochet
Shorts: Oneteaspoon
Shoes: Natasha
Bag: Witchery
Jewelry: Yves Saint Laurent arty ring, Tiffany & Co necklace and pendant.

20111123-155339.jpg

On Monday night I went to see Twilight Breaking Dawn part 1 with some girl friends. Since movies are always cold I took my cute little American Vintage cardigan and then added more colour with my Diva necklace (around $10-$20 I think) and my favourite bag right now.
Dress: American Vintage
Cardigan: American Vintage
Shoes: Natasha
Bag: Longchamp Le Pliage Tote in grape
Jewelry: Diva necklace, YSL ring.
