Repetto tan ballet flats from local boutique Domain Shoes and Accessories. Did I mention I can wear my orthotics with them? Winner. Although, okay, I admit I do need to invest in some double sided tape just to hold the orthotics down a bit better. But at least I kind of have another pair of shoes to wear orthotics with.
Rory Beca lace running shorts from Shopbop. So comfy, so good for kicking around the house. And they’re a bit chic too. Oh, and they were $30. Love it.
Forever New white and black button up dress. I bought this for an upcoming 21st with the theme ‘white formal’. Obviously I could have gone with something more formal, like a gown, but with the right hair and makeup I think this will work. Plus the party is in a club and I’m not risking a drink spill on something ball gown-ish.
I’ve been dying for an Equipment top for ages and have also been obsessing about finding a lovely mint something. So when I saw this gorgeous mint sleeveless button-up on Shopbop, I knew I had to have it.
Now I knew it’d be long on me, however it turns out it’s actually a relatively modest mini-dress on me – damn my vertically challenged-ness. It’s also slightly too wide despite being an extra-small.
Regardless I love it and am currently thinking of the most useful way to alter it. I’m thinking an inch off either side seam and possibly 2-3 off the hem. At first I may just alter the width however, and see if I use it as a dress or even a jacket. I have a feeling though I will take it up so I can wear it with my silk shorts. We’ll see what happens and I’ll update you all when I make a decision.
Lesson: don’t buy something unless you’re like me and happy to alter it. I have a good dressmaker and figure if I like something I will find a way to make it work. Others may find this too much hassle, which is perfectly fine, but pick your purchases wisely!
If I hadn’t just spent two weeks shopping in Melbourne and Sydney I would be considering this gorgeous Kenneth Cole New York ‘Brushed Window Pane’ Dress. I adore the colours and the print; the perfect dress for a night out with friends or a dressy lunch somewhere nice and sunny.
On Thursday I came across this gorgeous white lace number in Forever New that fit me like a glove.
The style of this dress reminds me of a high-street version of something a fashion editor might where when photographed at Paris Fashion Week walking the bloggers walk.
The recipe? Just add sky high pointy toe stilettos and a killer clutch to match with natural hair in a down-style. I think it’s love!
