21st birthday outfit

I can’t remember if I ever posted a picture of the outfit I wore to my 21st after all the effort I went to putting it together. Apologizes if I’ve already blogged this and am suffering amnesia.

I found this lovely Zimmermann dress in Melbourne while on holidays and was surprised at the time something strapless actually stayed up on me for once. The cut of the dress is very flattering on the female figure too; possibly something to do with the nicely cinched waisted and sweetheart neckline.

I did have a fair amount of trouble finding things to go with it. At first I tried contrasting it against block colours to no success. My turquoise necklace looked great but it wasn’t quite the look I was going for. I tried on purple, black, everything. Eventually a friend suggested a rather obvious choice I hadn’t thought of: gold and diamanté costume jewellery. While looking for something of this description, however, I found a lovely gold and shell leaf necklace that matched perfectly, along with some great gold and shell bangles to match all from Lovisa.

I paired the dress and jewellery with my white and gold YSL arty ring, some Betts Dorothy glitter pumps (which apparently come up more silver than gold in pictures), and a nice white and gold beaded clutch from Forever New. I really love how it all turned out. Not something I usually wear but perfect for a summer cocktail birthday party.

Recently I’ve been playing with different outfits revolving around the dress; hopefully I can fond plenty more to style it with. Definitely a great buy!

P.s. My brother just so happens to own the room with the full length mirror in it and happened to have tyres sitting in there on the weekend. Related: I feel like they make me look even shorter! Oh dear.

Brisbane trip so far

So today was technically day one of a girls trip to Brisbane for a 21st. Of course, we’ve had a bit of a shop already and found some decent bargains.
Such as a cute pair of London Rebel red peep toe pumps for $50. Fairly comfortable too considering I wore the clubbing that night and only got a small blister.

I also discovered Tree Of Life has cute silver jewellery and I bought myself a nice bow bracelet to match my Tiffany & Co R necklace and silver ring from my b’days.

Tomorrow will be another day of shopping – saw a super cute playsuit and some nice messenger bags – I’m super excited!

Black and Gold

Oh black and gold! Not only do I hold a soft spot in my heart for those colours thanks to 12 years of house spirit from school, but it looks good in jewellery too!

I received a lovely Stockland gift voucher for my 21st which I used to buy some new jewellery. Such as my lovely black tooth necklace on a long chain and my two new rings in a similar style.

These babies go fantastically with my current wardrobe and help make them feel a bit different and new. Plus they each cost under $15! Bargain!

Witchery bargain

The lovely people at Witchery sent me a $20 reward the other day so of course I trekked down to the shops to check out what I could get on my very limited budget at the moment.

I found a great $30 bracelet set which is simple and will match a lot of my wardrobe. I’m thinking it will go with my 21st outfit nicely too.

When I got the counter I discovered it was actually in sale. So instead of paying a $9.95 difference, I got $20 off (making it $9.95) and now I still have $10.05 reward left to use. Bargain! Perhaps I should have gotten two?

Xmas Wish List

Well it’s exactly one month until Christmas and my family and I have started dropping hints about what gifts we want for Christmas. We’re one of those families who rarely surprise each other and instead get each other the things we’ve been lusting after for ages but haven’t gotten ourselves. What’s on your Christmas wish list this year? Perhaps a holiday, a lovely candle set, or maybe some perfume. Let me know what you’re wishing for by commenting on this post!

Below I’ve shared my Christmas wish list for everyone to check out. Enjoy!

Country Road Pierra Sandal in Fossil Wood. I’m certain a girl can never have enough neutral coloured flats of all descriptions.

Another Yves Saint Laurent arty ring to add to keep my white one company, this time in a nice blue. I can’t get over how addictive these rings are. I swear I wear mine every day.

J Brand Lola Shorts in Stealth. Who doesn’t love a great pair of leather shorts or a great leather skirt?

And if you saw my blog the other day, Betts Dorothy pumps in nude and the Stussy Florence Lane dress in mustard are also both high on my Christmas wish list.

Here’s to hoping we’ve all been good this year and that Santa brings us what we’re lusting after and wishing for!
